CEU San Pablo University Hosts Conference on “Deepening the EU–Africa Partnership” Madrid, 19–20 January 2026

CEU San Pablo University will host the international conference “Deepening the EU–Africa Partnership” on January 19 and 20, 2026. The event is organized by the Real Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos within the framework of the CIDRA advocacy activities.

This high-level academic and institutional conference aims to examine and strengthen the strategic relationship between Europe and Africa at a time marked by profound geopolitical and economic transformations. It will bring together a distinguished group of academics, diplomats, representatives of European and African institutions, officials from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, business leaders, and experts in international relations.

Throughout the two-day program, participants will address key issues shaping the EU–Africa agenda, including:

  • Trade and investment

  • Regional integration

  • International cooperation

  • Security and defence

  • Spain’s role in its relations with Africa

  • Emerging opportunities within the EU–Africa framework

The conference will be streamed online, allowing a broad international audience to follow the discussions live.
