The Ambassador of Italy Visits the University of Dar es Salaam

On October 2, 2025, the Ambassador of Italy, His Excellency Giuseppe Sean Coppola, together with his delegation, paid a visit to the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). They were warmly welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. William A. L. Anangisye, along with members of the university’s management team and representative from various collaboration projects.

The visit centered on discussions about the ongoing collaboration between UDSM and various Italian institutions, while also identifying new avenues for future partnerships. One project that particularly drew the Ambassador’s attention was the CIDRA Project a joint initiative involving 13 universities, including six from Europe and seven from Africa, coordinated by Roma Tre University in Italy.

Ambassador Coppola expressed his gratitude for the meaningful discussions and reaffirmed Italy’s strong commitment to enhancing cooperation in education, research, and innovation. During the meeting, Call for Papers brochures were also distributed to promote the upcoming CIDRA academic event, which is set to take place April next year at the University of Dar es Salaam.
